Who We Are:

Electric Boat Naval Architects are responsible for submarine hydrodynamic and hydrostatic performance, safe handling of ships and large ship components during new construction, and ongoing support of the submarines across the fleet. We are looking for team mates who are driven to achieve results, practice extreme ownership, take pride in mastering their skills, thrive in a highly collaborative environment, and want to take part in our critical mission.

What we do:

Our engineers provide analyses and deliver solutions for all phases of the submarine lifecycle. We engage in concept design analysis of alternatives, detail design, new construction, testing, and in service support for all classes of submarine.

As a department with broad responsibilities our engineers develop and implement solutions across the U.S. submarine enterprise:

  • Lead multidisciplinary team to project how the threats and technologies of tomorrow will impact next generation requirements and designs.
  • Integrate new designs to manage the delicate submarine hydrostatic balance, ensure ship safety, and meet mission needs.
  • Optimize hydrodynamic performance leveraging cutting edge analytical tools.
  • Drive new construction delivering large-scale seaborne cargos, orchestrating major moves, launching and docking ships, overseeing waterborne tests.
  • Solve emergent problems for ships across the fleet.


Responsibilities

Candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and critical problem solving skills. Candidates must be highly motivated, perform independently, and able to interact with other groups and organizations in an engineering environment.



Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelors of Science degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Engineering.
  • Less than 4 years of experience
