Job Responsibilities:
The Inside Machinist is responsible for:
- The setup and machining of components on manual and CNC lathes, mills, Horizontal Boring machines, multi axis machining centers, wire EDM etc.
- Precision measurement of part dimensions.
- Completion of hard-copy and electronic documentation.
- Work with little to no supervisory experience.
You must be able to work and train on all shifts.
Responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical detail drawings, including GD&T, G&M codes and weld joint symboling
- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools
- Computer literacy
- Proficiency in shop mathematics
- Must be detail and goal oriented
- Always practice a "Safety First" mentality.
- Must be able to use hand tools and portable power tools.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or be a current High School Senior
- 0-5 years of experience with CNC Machining set-up, Programming, or Operating Machines
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Must know how to read blueprints
Preferred:
- Technical School education
- Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board (EWIB) Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative training program
