Overview

Tool Crib Attendants are responsible for managing and distributing tools, equipment, and supplies throughout various locations in the shipyard. Must be able to retain an ability to work independently with minimal supervision oversight. Applicant shall have well developed verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable being audited and surveilled multiple times a week.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Issuing tools and equipment to workers and ensuring proper check-in/ check-out procedures
  • Maintaining inventory records and tracking tool usage
  • Inspecting tools for damage and communication needed repairs or replacements
  • Organizing and storing tools efficiently for clean and easy access
  • Assisting with ordering and restocking of supplies as needed by management


Responsibilities

  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment
  • Familiarity with various tools and their functions
  • Interpersonal skills and highly motivated


Qualifications

Required:

  • HS Diploma or Ged OR 2 or more years of related technical experience
  • 5+ years of inventory experience
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift and sustain a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Must be able to move heavy pallets of crib stock with a pallet jack
  • Work Overtime when needed
  • Must be able to work until the end of normal scheduled hours

Preferred:

  • Prior shipyard experience
  • Prior Tool Crib experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Military experience
