Overview

Electric Boat D445 Bangor, WA is searching for Test Engineers to support the following:

  • SSBN Strategic Weapon Support Systems (SWSS) and/or SWS Navigation (NAV) Equipment
  • SSGN Attack Weapon Support Systems (AWSS)
  • Hovering and Missile Compensation Systems
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical test procedure executionandchange management for SSP/NAVSEA sponsored Ship Alterations
  • Extended Refit Periods (ERPs) and UK LOP(R)s

This position will support the OHIO fleet in resolving issues associated with AWSS/SWSS, SWS NAV, Hovering or Missile Compensation Systems equipment including conduct of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and procedural execution issues.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with design, engineering and tech pubs to provide technical direction for the update and maintenance of SSBN/SSGN technical documentation (SMPs, SSMs, SWSSSMs, Tech manuals, WPs, CPs etc.)
  • Support resolution of SWSS/AWSS Trouble Failure Reports (TFRs), Trouble Casualty Reports (TCRs), Liaison Action Requests (LARs), SUBS and TDENT messages.

This position is located in Bangor, WA.



Responsibilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface with fleet personnel and government customer representatives


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • 6 or more years of relevant SWS and/or AWS experience or SWS NAV, Hovering and Missile Compensation Systems.
  • Current SECRET DoD Clearance or ability to obtain SECRET clearance
  • Experience with submarine test programs and interface control
  • Understanding of AWSS, SWSS, Hovering and Missile Compensation equipment for OHIO fleet
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with multiple technical organizations, program offices and Navy personnel
  • The ability to travel for multiple weeks at a time to support various D445 activities in locations such as Groton, Quonset Point, Kings Bay, SWSA (Cape Canaveral), and the UK.

Preferred:

  • Relevant leadership experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the SWS / AWS, associated support systems and equipment arrangements.
  • Strong working knowledge of ship support systems to include SWS Navigation, Hovering and Missile Compensation Systems.
