Overview

The Electrical Integration departments Method and Grounding group is seeking an experienced test engineer to expand its small team dedicated to support electrical grounding and electrical methods work across Columbia and Virginia programs.

Electrical Methods and Grounding responsibilities include analysis of electrical safety grounds for all electrical components on all platforms. Proficiency with Electrical installation methods and the ability to provide direction or clarity to others across the enterprise. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing of Grounding design disclosures
  • Creating Dispositions to answer Vendor Information Requests for electrical cable and connector specifications.
  • Providing information on various methods installation materials.
  • Reviewing Specification Histories for electrical cable and connector specification revisions to ensure revisions are interchangeable.
  • Performing Deckplate Surveillances on in process work using electrical installation methods.


Responsibilities

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills which are necessary to function successfully in existing teamed environments.
  • The ability to multi-task and possession of skills that permit independent functioning without significant oversight is also desired.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of reading/understanding blueprints within a shipyard and/or project management background

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level of security clearance through the Department of Defense

Preferred:

  • Prior Electrical trade experience within the shipyard
  • Familiarity in understanding electrical shipyard
  • Construction background and/or relevant experience or training
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter and Teamcenter grounding application
  • Familiarity with Electrical Methods Drawings
  • Prior Planning experience
  • Project management experience
