Position Summary

As Tax Manager, you will work closely with Jet Aviation finance and business personnel as well as with the General Dynamics tax organization on a broad array of projects, supporting tax compliance and accounting, process improvement, M&A initiatives, and other business objectives. This role is a potential path to future opportunities and deployment elsewhere in the General Dynamics organization.


This role is an office-based position, on a hybrid schedule, working at least four times weekly from the office. Our ideal candidate will work from our location in Teterboro, NJ. The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range for this exempt position will be as follows: $90,000 - $125,000 plus a performance-based bonus up to 10% of annual salary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related curriculum required
  • Five to seven years prior related experience required, preferably with an accounting firm or large US-based multinational
  • Ability to engage in in-depth analysis of tax law; general knowledge of federal, state, and international compliance requirements; and familiarity with income tax accounting principles required
  • Must be able to both operate independently and coordinate with a broader team working at other sites
  • Must be proficient in use of tax and accounting software; familiarity with analytics software such as Alteryx, Power BI, Power Query preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills as well as keen attention to detail required

Main Responsibilities

  • In coordination with Aerospace, EMEA and Corporate Tax personnel, analyze, lead/assist, as appropriate, with filing required state, federal, and international tax returns and the quarterly tax provision process
  • Consult with other tax professionals within the Aerospace group and the broader General Dynamics Tax organization on various tax positions, filings, audit inquiries, and other tax issues
  • Apply law to facts in analyzing tax questions to support business partners and coordinate with GD Tax personnel on same
  • Support M&A initiatives and technology projects (i.e., automation, ERP system updates) from a tax perspective
  • Help identify, test, and implement improvements to tax processes
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network

  • Masters degree in tax a plus
  • CPA strongly preferred
