Sr. Director, Operations has overall responsibility for a single manufacturing facility. Directs all aspects of production activity at the assigned plant to ensure that the desired quantities and quality of products are manufactured on schedule in a safe manner at minimum cost. May be responsible for Accounting, Human Resources and other staff functions.
Responsibilities
- Directs manufacturing operations and management teams for plants and locations of an organization that support business goals.
- Incorporates the organizational strategy and plans for operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs in manufacturing processes.
- Monitors production metrics and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency.
- Drives workforce planning activities and approves/ allocates resources based on business priorities.
- Implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes.
- Leads and directs the work of other managers and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Provides leadership and direction through managers
- Must have at least one manager level direct report
- Is accountable for the performance and results of a division or region
- Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy
- Decisions are guided by functional or major operational segment strategy and priorities
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate's Degree,Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business
- Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/ or Experience
- 10-12 years of experience in a relevant function

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel:
- Less than 25% travel likely.
