Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of DefenseSecret security clearance ispreferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Space Force MUOS SCS Software Engineer in the Space, Cyber & Intelligence Systems business area, youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for development and test of specialized solutions that are used by our warfighters worldwide on patrol in hostile environments, whether urban, canyon, mountains, or jungles or even the Arctic Circle. The system provides a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system. Not only do we maintain the current live system, but you will help add new capabilities, enhancements and replaces end of life components.

  • Develop new software components in C++, Java, Perl or Python on Linux and Windows
  • Knowledge of and experience using Linux (basic OS comprehension and basic shell scripting), preferably Red Hat or derivatives
  • AWS or Azure Cloud computing
  • Integrate COTS tools, including open-source products and API-driven integration efforts
  • Build multi-tier software solutions, including database design and integration, identification and authentication, and data capture
  • Perform thorough unit testing of software components to prepare for integration in a larger system
  • Conduct software component integration to ensure end-to-end system functionality prior to formal testing
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including configuration management and good coding practices
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies on Linux OS (Docker, Podman, k8s, RKE2)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Technical problem-solving ability for large and complex software systems

Workplace Options:
This position can be fully on-site or a minimum of three days working in the Scottsdale GDMS facility.
While on-site, you will be a part of the MUOS team located in Scottsdale, Arizona.



Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $75,946.00 - USD $84,253.00 /Yr.
