MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
JEM is an accredited Department of Defense (DoD) software that provides time-phased Hazard Prediction (HP) capability for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) and Toxic Industrial Materials (TIM) incidents. JEM provides the ability to predict high-fidelity downwind hazard areas and effects associated with the release of CBRN and TIM into the environment. JEM is able to incorporate the impacts of weather, terrain, and material interactions into the downwind prediction. JWARN is an accredited Department of Defense (DoD) software system that provides a standardized Warning and Reporting (W&R) capability for CBRN and TIM incidents. CBRN IS is the cloud infrastructure required to meet the JEM and JWARN requirements for cloud hosting. It resides on the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) STRATUS cloud.
This contract includes CBRN IS system administration and software support activities required to maintain JEM and JWARN on the cloud.
In addition to hosting JEM and JWARN, CBRN IS facilitates chat services, a common mapping capability, along with access to Geographical Information System (GIS) resources and real-time meteorological conditions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Engineer SME must have:
- Security clearance level: Active Secret security clearance
- Experience: 15 years' experience in software development, to include: technology analysis and assessment, web application development, enterprise system architecture and software design, systems analysis, and integration of disparate components within a complex software system.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in system architecture and software design.
- Technical Skills: Java, FORTRAN, Tomcat, Karaf. Familiarity with environmental data sources required.
- Additional skills desired (not required): C, C++, Git, Ozone Widget Framework (OWF), Google Web Toolkit (GWT), PostgreSQL.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemical/Nuclear/Net work Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics or Computer Science
- US citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $141,950 - $192,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
