Our work depends on a Senior Software Developer joining our team to support Arkansas Patient Centered Medical Home activities at 4800 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Senior Software Developer supporting Arkansas Patient Centered Medical Home, you will be trusted to work on data warehousing and analytics using Oracle SQL & PL/SQL. In this role, a typical day will include:

Daily Responsibilities Include:
  • Design and code efficient software systems, components, units, and modules that meet product specifications, executional time constraints, and development schedules in SQL & PL/SQL.
  • Review, test, debug, and tune software components implemented by yourself and others.
  • Understand and maintain existing SQL & PL/SQL solutions.
  • Analyze data to develop understanding of validity, variance, and relationships to other data sets.
  • Develop relational data structures for compliance with and integration into larger relational data models.
  • Maintain existing data models as data expands and changes.
  • Develop processes to intake and integrate new data sources into relational data warehouses using data validation and ETL (Extract, Transform, & Load) methodologies.
  • Translate business needs and solutions into technology independent language.
  • Interpret business documentation into technical implementation.
  • Work with business analysts to improve understanding and documentation of customer needs and technical solutions.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to solve unique data challenges in analytics, interfacing, and reporting for control and visibility of quality, cost, and performance in healthcare.
  • Your success will be measured through understanding of business logic and customer goals, implementation of assigned tasks in meeting requirements and unit testing, collaboration with peers, and growing your skillset and domain knowledge as goals and technologies grow in support of both client and company needs.


Occasional responsibilities include:
  • Research new technologies and solutions.
  • Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Participate in large system and subsystem planning.
  • Advise hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities.
  • Write and updates technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  • Provide customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
  • Develop and/or maintain knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
