Basic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of business principles. Administration Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Administration Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. This position will support program teams supporting the efforts
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various projects of the GDMS organization and its clients. In addition to receiving a competitive wage, the Administration Intern will enhance their skill set by working among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. Position Overview
As a Software Asset Management (SAM) Intern, you'll help track and organize the company's software licenses and subscriptions. This is a great opportunity to learn how organizations manage their software tools, stay compliant, and work efficiently with different teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Help track software licenses and subscriptions using tracking tools (like Maximo/Teams)
- Keep software inventory records organized and up to date
- Assist with creating reports on software usage and compliance
- Support the software request process and help answer questions from employees
- Help with purchasing activities like communicating with vendors and preparing purchase orders
- Attend team meetings and learn about software management best practices
- Work with different teams to understand how software is used across the organization
What We're Looking For
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and ask questions when needed
- Interest in technology, software management, or IT operations
