The Sheetmetal Mechanics are responsible for accomplishing work in accordance with work specifications safety, with the highest quality, in a professional manner
POSITION DEMANDS (Required Experience)
- Must have at least 5 years experience working on Navy ships and have the ability to navigate a ship and understand compartment designation
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layout, fabricate, install and repair sheetmetal products related to shipboard construction HVAC and habitability and have an excellent knowledge of the various types of metals and sizes.
- Excellent knowledge of habitability layout and installation of metal joiner (MJ) bulkheads, MJ doors, berths, galleys and office outfitting
- Must be able to repair sheetmetal products related to Shipboard construction HVAC and Habitability
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
- Must have full knowledge of Work Authorization Form (WAF)
- Must be able to complete work with little or no guidance from Supervisor
- Must have basic knowledge of Standard Items

Pay Range: $31.73 - $41.64 Hourly
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity. At NASSCO Bremerton we anticipate making salary offers between the minimum and midpoint of salary range. Offers will be based on experience, abilities, and knowledge similar to the NASSCO Job being applied for NASSCO employees performing similar work.
