Description: About the Role:
We are seeking candidates who are highly organized, and results driven to be part of the Phoenix team. This role leads and coordinates cross-functional projects. The project manager oversees related performance activities and driving key decisions to meet project schedule and cost goals for this exciting next generation of vehicle at GDLS.
This role(s) is open at various Career Levels at GDLS for P54 to P56.
Some of the responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect: (Depending on level of experience)
- Possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projects
- Generate and execute project plans and integrated schedules
- Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope
- Forecast and maintain project demand files
- Establish & utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performance
- Facilitate and support technical and programmatic events
- Represent the IPT and engineering organization to GDLS leadership and our customers
- Participate as a member of the engineering leadership team leading the effort to success.
- Helps to or leads the preparation of bids and provide bid support for any applicable RFI or proposal efforts
- Will serve as a primary technical interface for internal and external customers
- Will coordinate or help coordinate incoming problem reports for prioritization and processing
- Support change processing metrics through tracking, measuring and managing aging issues to resolution
- Evaluate and disseminate customer comments to proposed changes for immediate action
- Propose/assess process improvements to increase through-put of design updates and customer satisfaction.
- Other duties/functions as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience
- P54 Specialist - level 4-7 years engineering or related experience
- P55 Staff level - 7-10 years of staff engineering, project management experience.
- P56 Senior - Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, extensive PM management desired.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
- Demonstrated experience Project Management (PMP Certification a plus)
- Able to demonstrate the ability to form and lead teams
- Experience in leading design, development and integration of complex systems
- Proven leadership skills and competencies
- Ability to assess technical risk and develop corrective actions and/or mitigation plans
- Must have excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have excellent business acumen and negotiating skills
- Ability to travel as needed as some travel may be required
- This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
