Overview

This position is in support of various programs including Virginia Class New Construction, SSW, Columbia Focus Factory and Delivered Ship availability. The successful candidate filling this position will be required to perform Detail Planning and/or Production Control functions which include, but are not limited to, Drawing reviews, MRP file load, Product Structuring, load or coordination of the load of SWSS and CPJ, Work Order management, software and hardware expediting in support of Work Order schedules, change processing, problem sheets and work completion closeout. In order to perform these functions, successful candidates will be required to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management. The Individual filling this position will be called upon to represent planning at various Construction statuses, Process Improvement and Program Review meetings. The successful candidates will be expected to be aware of and in compliance with those attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement as they apply to their position.

This is an onsite position Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-8 Years of experience in Trade/Shipyard/or Preparation and Issuance of construction work orders
  • Blue Print Reading experience
  • Ability to read and Interpret Construction Drawings
  • Proficient Computer Skills

Preferred:

  • College Degree
  • Team Center experience
  • Electronic Desktop experience
  • Working/Reading Engineering Reports
  • Problem Sheets
  • Structural/Pipe/Electrical/SheetMetal Discipline background
