Overview
This position will be primarily responsible for the delivery of the OSHA-30 Maritime program at General Dynamics Electric Boat. They will also be responsible for the delivery of additional safety programs and courses as needed. As a Workforce Development instructor and safety professional, they will be expected to have a significant impact on the safety training at EB. Reporting into the Safety Training Lead they will also be expected to support surveillance and improvement of safety training delivered by other instructors.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Instruct Electric Boats OSHA-30 Maritime class at least 2x per month.
- Surveil safety training programs across EB sites and partner locations to ensure compliance, continuity, and effectiveness
- Partner closely with Safety Department to ensure training is meeting their intent and needs
- Partner with Curriculum Development team to ensure curriculum meets OSHA and EB safety requirements
- Partner with other instructors to help them teach their safety focused content in the most effective manner
- Conform with all OSHA Outreach Training Program recordkeeping requirements
- Surveil classes and programs to recommend improvements
- Research and be in tune with safety training best practices within the industry
Responsibilities

- Attention to detail: highly organized with excellent follow-through and delivery.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous Instructor experience
- Experience working within a safety department or where work was primarily focused around safety
- Familiarity with OSHA and ANSI safety standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certification - Associate Safety Professional or above
- OSHA 5410 Completion
- OSHA 5400 Authorized Trainer
- Experience implementing enterprise safety programs
- Experience as a Safety Instructor or Curriculum Development of safety courses
