Overview

Opportunity:

General Dynamics, the worlds foremost designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking a technical-degreed Oracle ERP Architect (Senior, Specialist) to join the organization. This is a junior to mid-level architect position primarily supporting activities related to Oracle ERP and Oracle Cloud at Customer projects

Position:

Relevant profiles to perform this Architecture position would be experienced in multiple architecture domains: data, application, security, and technology and have experience in ERP enabled business processes across one or more of the following business areas: finance, procurement, inventory and warehouse management. The candidate should be an active learner, able to work independently on multiple tasks simultaneously. The responsibilities of the Oracle ERP Architect will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Work with architecture peers to analyze business strategy and requirements to derive the future state architecture. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide the decisions at both the project and enterprise level
  • Stay abreast of technology trends and the practical application of technology
  • Stay current with Oracles EBS and ERP Cloud solutions and functional capabilities
  • Analyze current state architectures to identify gaps and deficiencies and develop approaches to address them
  • Review proposed solutions, balancing the long term strategic with the short term tactical goals
  • Perform functional and technical design reviews for completeness and compliance with requirements and standards
  • Perform code level reviews for compliance with approved designs, architecture and development standards Identify performance and security concerns
  • Learning new technologies and products, e.g., Oracle Cloud at Customer and ExaCloud
  • Collaborate with business constituents, architecture team members, project teams and solution providers to fulfill these responsibilities

  • Understanding of multiple software development lifecycles methodologies, e.g., waterfall, agile, AIM, OUM, ASAP
  • Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Knowledge and understanding of different modeling languages such as UML


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant architecture work experience (data, application, security, and technology)

Preferred:

  • Experience reducing complex topics and distilling them into management level summaries for non-technical audiences
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as Federal, Finance, Healthcare, or Life Sciences and/or running major applications in a GOV Cloud
  • Experience in data analysis and modeling in a business intelligence or reporting environment
  • Experience in Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Procurement, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing solutions, migrating from EBS to ERP Cloud, and/or upgrading EBS to a recent release 12.2.10+
  • Experienced with industry frameworks and standards such UML, TOGAF, ITIL
  • Familiarity with Oracle Unified Process (OUM) SDLC
  • Familiarity with a cloud platform such as Oracle, Azure and/or AWS
