Information Security Engineer III in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
DUTIES: Design, implement, and maintain information security systems under minimal supervision. Collaborate with security operations in defense of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets and services. Be responsible for operational excellence of information security systems. Maintain and administer firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS)/intrusion protection systems (IPS), VPN, web and email filtering, SIEM, application whitelisting, data loss prevention, and multi-factor authentication. Adhere to change controls, participate in root-cause analysis, and focus on continuous improvement of production and non-production environments. Examine and analyze network traffic, related applications and operating systems to identify potential threats, and anomalous or malicious activities to network resources. Report on key activities, projects, and metrics in a timely manner. Develop and maintain user and technical documentation. Mentor junior information security team members. Be on call for incidents and problems. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field required. Five years of experience supporting server, network, and/or information security solutions required, including any experience with: subnetting, routing, and network segmentation; creating and analyzing packet captures; TCP/IP networking including protocols and services (i.e., BGP, VRF, IPsec, SSL VPN); firewalls, routers, and switching infrastructure (i.e., Palo Alto, Cisco); automating reporting and common administrative functions through scripting languages; Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and best practices; physical/virtual servers, storage, networking, databases, and middleware components; operating systems Windows, OSX, iOS, and Linux or UNIX; and with packet sniffer operation and packet dissection (i.e., Wireshark, tcpdump, Fiddler). Must pass credit history check. National and international travel up to 25%.

- Understanding of architectural principles including performance, scalability, security, availability and flexibility and how to design for them.
- Experience with the following operating systems: Windows, OSX, iOS, Linux or UNIX.
- Competency in packet sniffer operation and packet dissection (Wireshark, tcpdump, Fiddler, etc). 7. Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, etc.) or other industry certifications (MCSE, CCIE, etc.) are a plus.
