Position Summary

The post holder will be responsible for review of engineering designs and development of flammability substantiation data to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Specifically, this role is to support the Design Organisation in the qualification, testing, and certification of aircraft Interiors/Aircraft modifications and to provide technical support for ongoing continued airworthiness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to successful project completion by participating in the review of designs, regulatory/customer requirements, and qualification plans while developing substantiation data documentation to support project goals.
  • Prepare or review flammability test drawings, test plans, test reports, and qualification documents.
  • Support fire properties testing (CS25.853, CS25.855 and CS25.856) including coordination for internal and external laboratory tests (Bunsen burner (seats and divans) and Cargo flammability, heat release, smoke density and toxicity, Insulation materials 25.856(a) and (b)
  • Review engineering design changes and prepare change-based documentation for flammability compliance.
  • Collaborate across all disciplines of the design team during product development.
  • Work with customer design engineers, subject matter experts CVE`s and FAA authorized Representatives to establish acceptable showing of compliance for flammability.


Minimum Requirements

  • Higher Level Education Cycle (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior) in Industrial Design.
  • Knowledge of material property characteristics, flammability of materials.
  • Ability to interpret material and fabrication process specifications for non-metallic structure.
  • Basic knowledge of composite manufacturing methods, vacuum forming, injection molding, composite materials, bonding, trim and finish.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English. Minimum C1 level.
