EHS Sr Specialist

Summary:

Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safetyprograms and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure thatall facilities are in compliance with regulations | Responsibilities are within the Environmental Healthand Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.

• Complies with RCRA permits and manages hazardous waste program
• Familiar with air sources and submitting Air Emissions Reports
• Maintains compliance with EPA required programs such as Tier II, EPCRA, TRI, CERCLA, etc.

• Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
• Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
• Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
• Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
• Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
• Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
• Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
• Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
• Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree and 5-7 years expierence
  OR
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline preferred
