Overview
Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations | Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
Responsibilities
- Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
- Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
- Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
- Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
- Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
- Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
- Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
- Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
- Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field
- Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work
- Leads others to solve complex problems
- Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
- May lead functional teams or projects
Interdepartmental project facilitationskills, Accident Investigations and RCCA Project Management, ISO 14001 45001 Internal Lead Auditor, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Federal Reporting Tier II-TRI-OSHA 300,etc. Management of Workers Compensation Programs, knowledge of Air Permitting Licensing requirements, 4145.26M Contractor requirements for energetics and ammunition,Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Ventilation, Asbestos Mgt Programs, ConfinedSpace Entry, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention Systems, Regulated Substances, Hazardous Waste Mgt, 1st Aid/CPR, Incident Commander, Arc Flash/LOTO, Cranes/Hoists, Material Handling, Rigging, Power ActuatedTools, Hot Work, Industrial Powered Vehicles, PPE Assessments & Mgt..
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience: AssociatesDegree and 8-10 years experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
Environmental Health and Safety or related degree preferred
