Overview

Electric Boat Groton shipyard is seeking Deckplate Detail Planners who are ready to work in a fast-paced production environment performing planning functions in support of Groton Operations departments. The Planning organization offers exciting opportunities for individuals seeking a long-term career path at Electric Boat. Candidates must be highly motivated, self-starters who are detailed and task oriented and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and interface with multiple organizations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Development & maintenance of Work Instructions using Teamcenter & PCM/EWP
  • Incorporation of design changes (CRs/CNs),LOA revisions, problem sheets, work transfers, etc.
  • Adherence to planning processes & procedures
  • Collaboration with peers and supervision for the development of new processes and procedures
  • Executing department goals related to quality and attainment
  • Monitoring construction schedules
  • Performing tactical problem solving
  • Collaboration with internal & external stakeholders
  • Problem resolution
  • Collaboration with the Operations, Ships Management, and Production Control Planning customers

This is an on-site position located in Groton, CT.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of combined experience in a Trade, shipyard, military, planning/ production control, design, inventory, scheduling, customer service and/or logistics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, & Word
  • Ability to comprehend blueprints & technical documents

Preferred:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree
  • Experience in Planning, Operations (trades), Engineering, Design, or Program Office
  • Knowledge of the following business systems: Teamcenter, NX, ARTEMIS, PCM/EWP & MRP
