Overview
Electric Boat is seeking an Assistant General Counsel who will provide strategic legal guidance and compliance advice to business partners in the Supply Chain, Materials and Strategic Sourcing Organization. The Assistant General Counsel position provides an opportunity to join the legal team supporting the nations premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the Supply Chain, Materials and Strategic Sourcing Organization and provide counsel on legal issues impacting the Submarine Industrial Base
- Negotiate significant multi-million-dollar government and commercial supply chain contracts
- Provide strategic guidance regarding subcontractor performance issues, terminations and disputes
- Support adjudication of Requests for Equitable Adjustment and Claims
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Program Office, Information Technologies and Finance organizations on strategic objectives and legal issues
- Provide legal and compliance guidance to international supply chain buyers and programs
- Negotiate Technical Data Rights and review Intellectual Property issues
- Draft and negotiate Data Processing Addendums for the protection of personal information
- Review and negotiate Software Licensing and Information Technology Infrastructure agreements
- Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Active management of Outside Counsel for litigation
- Support Compliance functions throughout the Supply Chain organization
Other responsibilities may be assigned by the General Counsel or Senior Assistant General Counsels in the Legal Department.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Candidates must have a Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and have an active license to practice law in either Connecticut or Rhode Island.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 4 years practicing law in either a law firm, government agency, or corporate setting
- Experience in contract negotiation, in either commercial or government contractor context
- Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret level security clearance
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Government Contracts (FAR and DFAR)
- Experience with ITAR and EAR compliance
- Experience with Data Privacy compliance
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence risk mitigation including NIST Risk Management Framework
