Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for an Advanced Data Scientist for cArmy Systems.

Expected Duties:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test within U.S. Army machine learning initiatives and programs (e.g., cArmy, Project Maven, Vantage
  • Data Analytics Program) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure).
  • Implement processes, experiments, and prototyping solutions for various data sets in AI and ML, including data mining, analysis, modeling, predicting, and presenting.
  • Create machine learning and AI tools to discover and leverage information in large data sets, delivering insights through algorithms, dashboards, and queries.
  • Use advanced statistical methods, predictive modeling, and scripting to develop solutions for large data sets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Apply engineering principles and techniques of computer science and statistics to develop data-driven, evidence-based solutions and interpret findings.
  • Collaborate across departments and with project leaders to define data requirements and identify questions/issues for data analysis and experiments.
  • Independently determine approaches to solutions and contribute to the completion of projects or small programs; may lead small teams and provide training.
  • Travel may be required; security clearance required.

Expected Skills:

  • Demonstrate skillful judgment in selecting methods and techniques for analytical solutions and work on diverse scope problems requiring extensive data analysis.
  • Champion new ideas and products, with experience in advanced machine learning algorithms and skills (e.g., statistics, regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks).
  • Experience with creating and using data architectures for distributed data and strong programming, scripting, and querying skills.
  • Proficient in statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights, and implement new statistical or mathematical methodologies as needed.
  • Background in data mining, statistical analysis, pattern recognition, or predictive modeling.
  • Understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
  • Clearly present new concepts through oral, visual, and written communications.



Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $119,752.00 - USD $132,849.00 /Yr.
