The Flyer Family of Lightweight, Tactical Vehicles:
The Flyer family of modular, 4x4 mission-ready platforms bring superior capability and mobility to the special operator’s ever-changing mission needs. The vehicles are built for speed, endurance and transportability, and are capable of extended range across rugged terrain. They are easily reconfigured to support multiple crew and mission profiles, from three to nine operators, with full payload and mission profile kits. Both theFlyer 60 and Flyer 72 are currently under contact with U.S. Special Operations Command for its ITV and GMV 1.1 programs.
Two Flyer vehicle configurations will be on display:
The Flyer 72
will be shown in a five-crew configuration with a GAU-19/B .50 Gatling gun on the 360º gun ring. This configuration has a payload capacity of over 5,000 pounds while being internally transported in a CH-47 or externally underslung on a UH-60 helicopter. A lightweight reconnaissance vehicle, it can be equipped with C4ISR and a modular KE and underbody blast armor kit.The Flyer60 Transportable Vehicle (ITV)
will be exhibited with a Mk19 machine gun on a Remote Weapon Station (RWS). At just 60-inches wide, it can be carried inside the V-22, CH-47 and CH-53, C-130 and C-5 aircraft, as well as slung by the UH-60 and CH-47 airframes. The vehicle’s modular approach allows for rapid reconfiguration that provides enhanced protection, mobility, lethality and transportability across a spectrum of mission profiles.Next Generation Fire Control System (NGFCS):
An integrated module that gives the operator the ability to detect, recognize, identify and engage targets in both day and night conditions through day color video and night thermal imaging cameras. The system is designed and integrated with the MK47 and MK19 40mm Grenade Machine Guns as well as the M2/M2A1 .50 caliber machine gun.Modular Handgun System:
In partnership with Smith & Wesson, General Dynamics will display for the first time internationally its offering for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System solicitation.
