WALTHAM, Mass. – General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions announced that its flagship network security solution, Fidelis XPS™, earned an overall breach detection rating of 98.4 percent in an independent test conducted by NSS Labs, an information research and advisory company specializing in IT product testing. According to NSS Labs, which performed the tests at 1000 megabits per second (Mbps), Fidelis XPS detected 100 percent of exploits, scored 100 percent on its resistance to evasion techniques and received a zero percent false-positive rating. Fidelis XPS also passed all six stability and reliability tests and detected 98 percent of HTTP- and email-based malware, ensuring persistent defense and minimizing the chance of a breach.

“The outstanding results of the thorough testing performed by the NSS Labs confirms the strength of Fidelis XPS and reinforces the significant value it delivers to customers through enhanced visibility and control over the entire lifecycle of a threat,” said Tom Lyons, vice president product management for General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions. “It’s this kind of proven performance that leads customers to deploy Fidelis XPS to protect their enterprise networks.”

Potential test cases included web-based malware attacks that rely on social engineering, web-based exploits, socially engineered malware via non-HTTP traffic (such as email, a cloaked executable, FTP or an infected USB drive), blended exploits and offline infections. Real-world evasion techniques were used to disguise and modify the test case attacks and Fidelis XPS consistently demonstrated resistance, validating its overall approach to unraveling the deeply embedded content-based 'blended exploits' seen by both federal and commercial customers today.

“Real-time visibility over all phases of the threat life cycle is paramount to discovering and stopping today’s advanced threats,” said Peter George, president of General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions. “Fidelis XPS has the power to deliver enhanced network visibility, analysis and control over all ports at speeds of up to 20 Gigabits, enabling security practitioners to discover, investigate and remediate advanced threats quicker, more efficiently and most cost effectively.”
