Job Description

General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in the design, development, production, support and sustainment of tracked and wheeled military equipment, specifically the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.

Our company is searching for an engineering intern for the 2024 year.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in research and analysis, collaborating with the engineering team to develop and test prototypes, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to documentation and reporting of engineering activities.
Support and participate in assigned project work.
Perform engineering tasks, problem-solving and documentation activities
Support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.
Complete assigned projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a manufacturing plant and the industry, as well as drive efficiency.
Learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions.
Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Provide administrative assistance and support with all aspects of manufacturing management including automation, compliance/technical assistance and process improvements.
Communicate relevant KPIs to stakeholders and the site
Interact with manufacturing supervisors, safety coordinator, and union employees
Other duties as assigned.

Background Requirements

Must be currently enrolled student, sophomore level or above, pursuing degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2.50 GPA in a Bachelors degree program (transcripts must be provided)
Must be able to lift 25 pounds repetitively throughout the day to complete necessary work tasks
Must be a U.S. Person
Must be proficient with computers and software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Work Environment:
This job is performed in an office and heavy manufacturing environment.
