DUTIES:
- Execute daily service orders as required
- Install telecommunication hardware, including Category 6 cabling
- Perform routine maintenance
- Analyze connectivity issues
- Test, locate, and repair equipment problems
- Dress, terminate and test cables and components
- Maintains telecommunications equipment and installs, rearranges and removes equipment and associated wiring
- Verify service by testing circuits and equipment
- Read and interpret circuit diagrams and electrical schematics
- Work varying hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends and holidays, evenings, on-call duty, works between various office locations
- Participates in special projects as required
- Follow all company as well as US Government/DOE policies and procedures
- Provide After-Hour Support Duties
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- 5+ years of overall related experience
- 2+ years of related telecommunications experience
- 2+ years working knowledge of TDM networks
- 2+ years of experience with voice and data cabling circuits/standards such as: analog, digital, POTS, PRI, BRI, CAT-3, CAT-5, CAT-6, and Fiber Optics.
- Ability to communicate
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team to accomplish tasks and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with power tools
- Ability to work on a ladder as required
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q level security clearance
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience
- Strong customer service experience is highly preferred
- Experience with basic data networking
- Experience with various models of Cisco Voice over IP phones
- Experience supporting a U.S. Government customer
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
The likely salary range for this position is $66,602 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
