Principal Systems Engineer - SCCM / MECM - Active Top Secret and SCI Eligibility Required

HOW A PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER for SCCM/MECM WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Provide expertise with Microsoft's SCCM/MECM.
- Leverage SCCM/MECM to provide security patches, vulnerability patches, hotfixes and other updates to user workstations and servers.
- Administer SCCM software delivery, including various methods such as running advertised programs, machine targeted, user targeted, Application Library, and Software Center.
- Manage and administer SCCM client health, including the process of getting clients healthy
- Provide expertise with PowerShell for custom reporting.
- Develop advanced technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
- Troubleshoot highly complex system hardware and software issues.
- Develop training materials for end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
- Develop implementation plans for software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Perform In Place Upgrades as needed for servers and laptops.
- Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensure workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
- Lead efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Conduct advanced hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure. compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develop performance and security plans for computers that meet the needs of network users.
- Evaluate existing systems and plans long-term strategies.
- Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
- Serve as a team or task lead as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline required. MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related disciplines preferred.
- Required Experience: 17+ years
- Required Technical Skills: DoD 8140/8570 IAT II compliance
- Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with a T5 or T5R within that last 5 years
- Required Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to convey conceptual ideas both written and verbally; Strong problem-solving skills
- Preferred Skills: Experience with Microsoft Server 2022
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia; limited telework may be available

The likely salary range for this position is $169,065 - $228,735. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
