Position Description:
The selected candidate will be a strategic HR Business Partner and HR Manager to our Lima, Ohio manufacturing facility.

This position proactively supports delivery of HR processes and is the main point of contact for all employees at our Lima, Ohio facility, thereby driving business intimacy and aligning workforce strategy with the business strategy. This position requires strong collaboration and relationship building, strategic / critical / innovative thinking, problem solving skills & judgement, business acumen, and the ability to work independently. With minimal direction, works collaboratively with other HRBPs and HR solution centers, while aligning with the business as a (1) strategic partner to define required workforce strategies, (2) advisor, coach, and mediator for leaders and employees within the organization, (3) operational HR navigator on policies, procedures, and new initiatives, and (4) emergency responder to urgent situations and needs as they arise.

In close coordination with business leaders and HR solutions centers, responsibilities will include the following, with other duties as assigned:

-Establishes and maintains an intimate understanding of the client organizations and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, at all levels of the organization.

-Coach business leaders on HR policies and processes, including employee relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, affirmative action and EEO programs, organizational development, and employee learning and development

-Coaches business leaders on key organizational and management issues

-Leads the administration and advice for our GDLS-UAW master and local collective bargaining agreements, to include but not limited to grievances, arbitration and leadership training/guidance. Prepares, participates, leads and executes local collective bargaining agreement negotiations and may participate in master negotiations

-Collaborates with Talent Acquisition, with a strong focus on acquiring and retaining top talent and on building pipeline for future needs, including strategy for on-campus recruiting, technical colleges/trade schools, focused military recruitment initiatives and intern/ co-op programs

-Uses understanding of individual and organizational dynamics to facilitate diverse talent movement into and throughout the organization.

-Develops thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development and retention

-Lead the HR function at Operational staff meetings and HR staff meetings, effectively communicating HR initiatives and proactively reminding of existing programs

-Conduct salary analysis and implement for new hires, merit, promotions, equity adjustments and other salary transactions

-Partner with Manufacturing leaders and HR Solution Centers to assess impact of current total rewards offerings to ensure competitive attraction and retention of top talent while leveraging metrics for key decision-making

-Lead execution of the Company's Dispute Resolution program

-Lead strategy and execution of proactive employee relations programs and union avoidance

-Focal point at the sites to interpret policies and procedures and provide policy guidance in a consistent manner

-Facilitate the resolution of complex employee concerns including discipline if appropriate. Counsel management on corrective actions ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies

-Own the facilitation and participate in leader position interviews to identify and select the best pool of diverse applicants

-Ensure compliance with local, state and federal policies, regulations and laws

-Interact closely/positively with other HR Solution Centers, Markets and Business Partners to achieve functional goals and objectives in a team environment

-Report and analyze a variety of HR Metrics to drive business decisions

Position Requirements:
Must have Bachelor's degree. Master's degree and/or HRCI certification (PHR/SPHR) is a plus

Ten (10) or more years of HR experience or relevant business experience and three (3) years as a people leader is preferred

Must demonstrate high level of leadership capability and a champion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace

In addition to GDLS background check, must be able to pass Department of Army background check to achieve unescorted access to the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center (JSMC)

Must effectively demonstrate the ability to work at all levels of the organization

Must be able to effectively balance the role of employee advocate and management advisor

Previous business negotiations and union avoidance experience is preferred

Must have experience in business negotiations

Previous continuous improvement experience
