HOW A WEB SERVER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Installation and Configuration: Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components.

Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally.

Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
  • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues.

Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities.

Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure.

Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies.

Collaboration: Work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation.

User Support: Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries.

Ticket-Based Support: Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction.

Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions.

Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks.

Compliance:
  • Ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Maintain compliance with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience, Hands-on experience with web server software such as Apache, Nginx, and IIS. Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.

Required Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, and web security practices.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $49.30 - $66.70. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
